At the Law Offices of Charles Kurmay, our attorneys serve as a backbone for the success of our clients. Charles Kurmay, founder and principal attorney, has nearly two decades of legal experience. He began his career as a judicial law clerk and public defender, gaining a valuable foundation of trial skills and experience. His firm now offers services in a broad range of civil and criminal practice areas, including business law, international law, personal injury, probate and real estate.
A native of Stratford, Connecticut, Mr. Kurmay is well-respected in the local community for the high quality of his legal advocacy. His extensive experience in state and federal court equips him to handle large, complex cases with ease. Mr. Kurmay is active in the Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Connecticut as well as the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands.
Associate attorney Jamie Ottaviano brings five years of legal experience to the firm. A former judicial law clerk, she has experience in a wide breadth of legal fields. She holds a J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law as well as a master’s degree in education.

Judge F. Paul Kurmay
Of counsel Attorney Ricardo Franco has been practicing law since 1996 with admissions to the bars of Spain and Brazil. He is a member of the List of Counsel for the International Criminal Court. His academic background includes advanced degrees from several prestigious international universities, specifically from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (Brazil) and from the University of León (Spain).
